New publisher on board at GateHouse Media Delaware.

Amy Dotson-Newton has been named the new Publisher and Advertising Director of GateHouse Media Delaware effective May 18.

Dotson-Newton is a veteran of the newspaper business and most recently was Regional Advertising Director for the Philadelphia market of  Digital First Media. She held that position since 2012. 

“My 28 years of experience in the media industry has lead me to this wonderful opportunity and I look forward to getting out into the communities we serve and meeting as many business owners and residents as possible,” Dotson-Newton said.

Josh Trust, Regional Vice President-Community East, said Dotson-Newton brings energy and passion to the publisher position.

“Amy’s career has had a tremendous focus on growing revenue as she has served in just about every capacity in the advertising department,” Trust said.  “Her track record of growth, especially with digital, is very impressive.”

Dotson-Newton, who has also served as Classified Advertising Director for the News Journal Media Group in New Castle and Sales Director for the Honolulu Advertiser in Honolulu, has Delaware roots.

“I am so excited to join the team that produces the best community products in the state of  Delaware,” she said. “I grew up on the Dover Post while attending Caesar Rodney schools and currently live in Middletown where I look forward to receiving The Middletown Transcript every Thursday so my local ties are very strong."

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from West Virginia University.

Dotson-Newton, her husband and two children live in Middletown.

She replaces publisher Keven Todd who has left GateHouse Media Delaware.

GateHouse Media Delaware properties include Kent County SUNDAY, the Dover Post, the Middletown Transcript, the Smyrna-Clayton Sun-Times, the Hockessin Community News, the Milford Beacon and the Sussex Countian.
