A Dover woman is being sought on suspicion of criminal impersonation and forgery after an alleged shoplifting incident on Aug. 18.
The woman has been identified as Betty D. Henry, said Dover Police Department spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
Henry, 23, gave the name Danae Powell and Powell’s personal information to the arresting office, who then gave her a criminal summons, which Henry signed by forging Powell’s name.
Henry allegedly used Powell’s identity because she has been the subject of a number of bench warrants out of Delaware courts, including one from Dover Police for second-degree forgery, criminal impersonation and shoplifting resulting from an August incident, Hoffman said.
Anyone with information on Henry’s whereabouts is asked to call Dover Police at 736-7111.
