  • Harrington fugitive arrested in Dover

  • A Dover man, identified as Shannon Johnson, 21, was arrested by Dover Police Aug. 26 and turned over to Harrington officers to face drug and weapons charges.
    Johnson was a passenger in a car that was stopped Aug. 16 in Harrington, said police department spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode. After the traffic stop, Johnson allegedly jumped out of the car and ran away, leaving behind the driver, identified as Erika Deputy, 21, of Dover.
    A search of Deputy’s car turned up 15 grams of marijuana and a .22-caliber handgun, Brode said.
    Harrington Police charged Johnson with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana with an aggravating factor and possession of drug paraphernalia.
    Johnson was jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, in default of a $15,000 secured bond.
    When arrested, Deputy was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of marijuana with an aggravating factor, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle with improper window tinting.
    She was jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institute in a $5,201 secured bond for the drug and weapons charges and an additional $5,000 cash bond for a charge of violation of probation.
