A Dover Man, identified by police as 22-year-old Dion Williams, was found to be carrying a quantity of heroin after his arrest Thursday afternoon.
Police contacted Williams at 5:16 p.m. Aug. 28, while he was in the area of Independence Boulevard and Liberty Drive, said Dover Police Department spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
Williams bolted, but was captured after a short foot chase, Hoffman added.
A search turned up 51 bags of heroin, Hoffman said.
Williams was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest; he is being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna.
The arrest was made by members of the department’s Drugs, Vice and Organized Crime Unit, along with Safe Streets officers.
