Rep. Darryl Scott on Aug. 20 announced his support for Sean Lynn in the Democratic primary election for the 31st District seat in the Delaware House of Representatives, which Scott has held since 2008.

Scott said Lynn, a Dover attorney and current city councilman, shares many of his views on important issues such as education, gun control, equal rights and capital punishment.

“Last week I attended a productive and educational debate between the two gentlemen seeking the Democratic nomination in the 31st District, Sean Lynn and Ralph Taylor,” Scott said. “During this forum, the differences between the candidates were made clear, and my family and I will be voting for Sean Lynn on primary day.

“Sean believes a lot of the same things I believe,” Scott said. “He supports our public schools, he’s committed to common-sense gun laws, believes in equal rights for all and agrees with me that the death penalty should be abolished in Delaware.

“I hope that over the next few weeks the people of the 31st District will get to know Sean and understand his positions on the issues.”

The Democratic primary election will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9.
