  • DelDOT’s most recent pavement and rehabilitation project will require the closure of Plaindealing Road between State Street and Ponderosa Road in Magnolia.
The closure will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18 and end at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, said DelDOT spokeswoman Louise Holt.
The reconstruction project, which is a full depth reclamation process, rebuilds worn out asphalt pavement by recycling the existing roadway. The old asphalt and base materials are pulverized, mixed with asphalt/cement and water, and compacted to produce a strong durable base for either an asphalt or concrete surface. Full depth reclamation is an environmentally friendly process. The contractor for these improvements is Diamond Materials.
Detour Eastbound: South on State Street, left onto Barkers Landing Road, left on Ponderosa Road. Reverse for westbound detour.
DelDOT will post signs to alert motorists of the upcoming closure and the detour routes.
Motorists can adjust their routes or travel times by using DelDOT’s Smartphone application. The DelDOT App is available for Apple & Android smart phones and tablets, and can be downloaded free at the Apple and Google Play stores or go to DelDOT.gov and click on the link to stores.
