A 58-year-old Harrington man, Joseph J. Bostic, serving a life sentence at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna died on July 28.

A 58-year-old Harrington man serving a life sentence at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna died on July 28.

Joseph J. Bostic died in the prison infirmary shortly before 8 a.m., following a  lengthy illness, according to Department of Correction spokesman Curt Shockley.

Bostic was serving a life sentence, which started July 21, 1986, for first-degree rape. His body was turned over to the Medical Examiner at the Division of Forensic Science. Foul play is not suspected, Shockley said.
