  • Dover man, Dante Durham, arrested for carrying loaded handgun

  • A Dover man, identified as Dante Durham, was arrested Monday after police learned he was in possession of a loaded handgun.
    Durham, 25, a convicted felon, is not allowed to carry a firearm, said Dover Police Department spokesman Lt. David Spicer.
    Officers stopped Durham at 6:30 a.m. July 21, at Saulsbury and Walker roads while investigating an unrelated incident, Spicer said. He was placed under arrest when a search showed he was carrying the loaded .380-caliber weapon.
    Durham was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
    He later was freed after posting a $15,000 secured bond.
