A Dover pair, identified as Shaquille Thomas, 22, and Laura Troise, 20, are facing weapons and drug charges after their arrest over the weekend.
The pair was taken into custody without incident at about 9:30 a.m. July 20, after a Dover officer pulled them over for speeding, said department spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
While talking to the driver, the officer noted the odor of marijuana and conducted a search that turned up 1.6 grams of the drug and a .45-caliber Glock handgun.
The weapon had been reported stolen through Delaware State Police Troop 9, Hoffman said.
Both were charged with second-degree conspiracy, receiving a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
Thomas was additionally charged with possession of weapon by person prohibited, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana with an aggravating factor.
Thomas and Troise were later released on $13,000 and $4,000 unsecured bonds respectively.
