  • Dover’s economy is expecting a boost from the recent news that Energizer Holdings, the parent company of Dover’s Playtex/Energizer Personal Care facility, will bring several hundred jobs to the city over the next three years.
“We are accepting the news with a lot of enthusiasm,” said Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen. “We’re looking at anywhere between 350 and 400 jobs either migrating here or being created fro the Dover economy,” Christiansen said.
The St. Louis-based Energizer Holdings made the announcement July 8, said closing the Montreal facility is part of a company-wide restructuring program begun in 2012. The Montreal plant manufactures Carefree and Stayfree feminine products; those lines will be transferred to the Dover plant.
