  • A pair of Dover men were quickly caught Friday following a failed robbery attempt.
The incident took place shortly after noon July 11, in the area of Kings Highway and Division Street, said Dover Police Department spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
Police were called to the scene by a man who said two persons had punched him in the face and then rummaged through his clothing in an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to find money.
The pair fled empty-handed, Hoffman said.
Shortly afterward, police spotted Maurice Butler Jr., 22, and Shaquille Drummond, 18, arresting Drummond without incident.
Butler, however, ran toward the area of Central Middle School and through nearby woods, eventually being captured inside Silver Lake Park.
The victim was not seriously injured, Hoffman said.
Both men were charged with second-degree attempted robbery, second-degree conspiracy, second-degree attempted robbery and offensive touching.
Bond information was not available, Hoffman said.
