A Kent County man, Dajaniel Smith, 22, has been arrested by Dover police after he allegedly strangled a Dover woman.
UPDATE: Dajaniel Smith turned himself in to Dover Police the afternoon of July 10. Bond information was not available at the time Dover Police announced the arrest.
A Kent County man is being sought by Dover police after he allegedly strangled a Dover woman.
Dajaniel Smith, 22, of Willow Grove Road, Camden, is wanted on charges of strangulation, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and malicious interference with emergency communications, said Dover Police Department spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
The incident began at about 2:14 p.m. Wednesday, at a home in the 200 block of North New Street, Hoffman said. Police were responding to a 911 call from a woman who said she and Smith had been fighting when he strangled her, causing her to lose consciousness.
The woman’s two children witnessed the attack, Hoffman said.
Once she came to, Smith allegedly broke the woman’s phone to keep her from calling for help and fled before police arrived.
