  • A 51-year-old man is recovering at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital from stab wounds allegedly caused during an altercation with his 29-year-old girlfriend.
The woman, identified as Charmele Seymore, of Dover, is being sought by Dover Police in connection with the incident, which took place at 9:27 p.m. July 4 in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn, at 561 N. Dupont Highway, said police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
Responding to a call about a stabbing, police found the victim, whose name has not been released, with numerous slash and stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.
The man said he and Seymore had been arguing when she pulled a knife and assaulted him. Seymore then took his cash and fled, the victim said.
The victim underwent surgery for his wounds and is listed in stable condition, Hoffman said.
When apprehended, Sewymore will be charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony.
Anyone with information on this crime or on Seymore’s whereabouts is asked to call Dover Police at 736-7111.
