Dover Police are investigating a July 6 shooting at the Dover Elks Lodge that injured two persons.

Two persons were taken to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital early Sunday morning after being shot at a local club.

The shooting took place at 12:32 a.m. July 6, at the Dover Elks Lodge, 217 N. Kirkwood St., said Dover Police Department spokesman Lt. David Spicer.

Police learned a man had produced a handgun and fired several shots at a crowd inside the building, Spicer said.

The shooter is described as a black man between 16 and 18 years of age who was wearing a baseball cap, red T-shirt and jeans.

The injured persons, who were not identified, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Spicer said.
