  • Officers with the Delaware Department of Correction are looking for an inmate who failed to return from an authorized pass issued by the Morris Community Corrections Center, Dover.
DOC spokesman John R. Painter identified the walk-away as John Palmer, 33, of Hartly.
Palmer is described as standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 195 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. He wears a mustache and goatee, and has a tattoo on his neck.
Palmer is wanted for violating probation on an original charge of receiving stolen property.
Community Corrections Centers are facilities where the DOC manages offenders who are transitioning back into the community. These centers are not secured in the manner of standard prisons, as offenders are permitted to the leave the facility to go to work, seek jobs or attend approved treatment sessions.
Anyone with information as to Palmer’s whereabouts is asked to call (800) 542-9524, or their local police department, Painter said.
