Two Dover men have been arrested and charged with possession of phencyclidine, or PCP.

Russell Ewell, 32, and Apalonio Patten, 33, were taken into custody June 9, said Dover Police Department spokesman Lt. David Spicer.

Officers made the arrest while investigating a complaint about persons loitering in the rear of a residence at 986 Whatcoat Drive, Spicer said. After contacting Ewell and Patten, officers smelled the odor of PCP coming from their vehicle. A search turned up 2.5 grams of the drug as well as a PCP-soaked cigarette.

The men were charged with possession of PCP, possession of drug paraphernalia, and second-degree conspiracy.

They were later released from custody after posting an unspecified secured bond.
