  • Dover High graduates planning to attend the school’s “Coming Home” reunion from June 12-15 will have a weekend full of events to enjoy, not the least of which will be bands and musicians who all have ties to the school.
    The groups will feature music from the 1940s through present day.
    So far, booked musicians include:
    n The Honeycombs, with alumni Dave Joiner and Allen Kessell;
    n The Reunion Band, with alumni Matt Spong, Robert Martson and Dickie Dempsey;
    n The Shakers, with alumni Rick Tremble and Billy Meyers, both of the Class of 1973;
    n Fazes, with alumni Vonzell Starnes;
    n Donald Ashley & The Millenniums;
    n Todd Stonesifer;
    n Gretchen Emery;
    n Anything Goes, with alumni Jeff Whitney;
    n Singer and songwriter Sol Knopf;
    n Country singer Craig Stonesifer;
    n Travis Bowers and J.D. Hogsten of the Trailer Park Casanovas, who will join Ray Brokenbrugh and Adam Murray of the Adam Murray Project;
    n Kevin Johnson, a singer, guitarist, harp player and commercial voice legend, who will be coming from New York City.
    Mike Hines & The Look, a popular band since the early 80s that has played numerous Dover High proms and homecomings, will perform at the school from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on June 14.
    Hines will be playing after the Guinness World Record attempt to break a record for school reunion attendance, set in 2006, when 3,299 former students attended an event at a high school in Tacoma, Wash.
    There still are a limited number of tickets available for the reunion, which will be required for admission to all events.
    Tickets are $20 per person or $30 for couples, and may be purchased at Townsend Brothers Chevrolet, C.F. Schwartz Toyota, Price Honda, Forney’s Jewelers or online at dhsaa.com, through Eventbrite.
    The band schedule will be available at the reunion’s website, dhsaa.com.
