  • A Dover man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed a friend.
Leo Martin, 37, of the 400 block of East Wind Drive, Baytree, was taken into custody June 2, said police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
Officers were called to the party at Martin’s address at 11 p.m. to investigate a report of a loud party and disorderly person, but learned the party was ending and that Martin was being loud and arguing with people at the party, Hoffman said.
The officers left after Martin’s friends told them they would bring Martin inside and take care of the problem peacefully.
However, following a 911 call, police were returned to the home at 11:09 p.m. to find Martin had stabbed a 31-year-old man twice in the stomach, Hoffman said.
Officers seized the suspected weapon, a switchblade knife with a 3 1/8-inch blade, at the scene.
The victim refused to cooperate with officers and medical personnel and declined medical attention, Hoffman added.
Martin was charged with second-degree assault, possession of a weapon during commission of a felony and unlawfully dealing with a switchblade.
Bond information was not available, Hoffman said.
