Dover Police are investigating a May 17 shooting in Capital Green.

Dover Police have arrested a Philadelphia man on weapons charges after he and another man apparently had a shoot-out in Capital Green.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Alfonzo White, had been shot in the leg, according to police reports.

The incident took place at 12:25 a.m. May 17, at New Castle Avenue and East Water Street. Dover officers responding to calls of gunshots fired found a man, later identified as White, running from the scene while carrying a handgun. The man was caught after a short chase and found to be carrying a .357 revolver.

White apparently had been shot by the other suspect, whose identity remains unknown.

Police found two different types of shell casings at the scene and reported one residence had been damaged.

White was charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and resisting arrest.

Bond information was not provided.
