A Dover Police officer was hit in the face during a fight at Dover Downs in which four people were arrested.

For the second time since March, Dover Police have arrested patrons at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino following a fight.

This incident took place at 2:20 a.m. May 11 in the casino’s parking lot as two persons, identified as Dorsey S. Davis, 25, of Central Drive, Felton, and Daheem Gadson, 25, of Kings Highway, Dover, were fighting, said department spokesman Lt. David Spicer.

As officers tried to separate the two, Davis allegedly hit a Dover officer in the face and then ran away. He was captured after a short pursuit and taken into custody.

Two other persons, identified as Kadeem Harris, 23, of Phoenix Drive, Dover, and Jazmine Johnson, 24, of River Road, Dover, were arrested when they refused to leave the area, Spicer said.

Gadson, Harris and Johnson were charged with disorderly conduct, and released.

Davis was jailed at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna, in default of an $8,500 secured bond.

On March 20, Dover Police, with the assistance of Delaware State Police and Delaware State University, broke up a large fight in the casino parking lot.

Three persons were arrested in that incident.
