The Caesar Rodney Riders’ baseball squad held off a late Dover rally Thursday afternoon, defeating the Senators 3-2.

CR was led by a dominating pitching performance from lefty Travis Dill who pitched a complete-game for the Riders allowing two runs, scattering six hits, while striking out six. Dill along with Gabe Rivera, and Kendall Wicks led the way on offense for CR combing for all three of the Riders’ RBI on the day.

The Riders got on the board early, knocking in two runs off Dover starter Tyler Cullen while adding a third run in the second to take a 3-0 lead after two innings.

Aaron Jenkins and Zach Stome knocked in runs for the Senators in the fifth and six innings but Dover wasn’t able to tie things up late.

The Riders went on to defeat Woodbridge 6-3 on Saturday afternoon, improving to 13-3 on the year.

Meanwhile, the Senators bounced back from the loss defeating Laurel 15-1 on Saturday. Dover’s record now stands at 11-3 on the season with just four games remaining.
