  • Police name suspect in White Oak Park robbery

  • Dover Police are looking for two men involved in an armed robbery Tuesday afternoon.
    One of the suspects has been identified as Robert Hawkes, 23, said police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
    The robbery took place at 3:10 p.m. May 6, in White Oak Park, Hoffman said. The victim had agreed to meet Hawkes there to sell an Xbox for $250.
    When the victim arrived, he was approached by Hawkes and another man, who pointed a handgun at him as Hawkes went through the victim’s pockets. Hawkes took an undisclosed amount of cash, a cell phone and other personal items.
    Police have obtained a warrant for Hawkes’ arrest, and will be charging him with first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, and second-degree conspiracy.
    The second suspect was described as a dark-complexioned black man standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches in height and weighing 180 to 195 pounds.
