A Seaford couple has been hospitalized after a May 4 motorcycle accident.

The driver and a passenger riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle have been hospitalized after a crash near Felton Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. May 4, on U.S. Route 13, near Canterbury Road, said Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.

The motorcycle, driven by Timothy G. Moore, 51, of Seaford, was moving northbound when it was struck by a 2002 Dodge Intrepid, which was turning onto Canterbury Road from the southbound portion of Route 13. Moore and his passenger, Connie F. Moore, 51, were both thrown from the motorcycle, Fournier said.

The Dodge spun clockwise and stopped just east of the northbound lanes.

Timothy Moore was taken to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition; Connie Moore was flown by State Police helicopter to Christiana Medical Center, where she also is listed in stable condition. Neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, Fournier said.

The driver of the Dodge, identified as Wyonia Hughes, 68, and her two passengers, girls ages 7 and 3, were taken to KGH, treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released. All were properly restrained.

Hughes as cited for failure to yield the right of way at a crossover, Fournier said.

The intersection was closed for approximately an hour to facilitate the investigation.
