  • A man who broke into a Dover restaurant, apparently in search of money, was forced to flee without obtaining any cash, said Dover Police Department spokesman Lt. Jason Pires.
The burglary took place at approximately 6 a.m. May 3, at the King Buffet eatery, located at 239 N. Dupont Highway, Pires said. The police investigation showed the suspect, who used a white blanket to cover his head and upper body, got inside by breaking out a rear window. The man broke a number of items while searching the interior of the building, but ultimately fled without taking anything.
Despite his attempts to hide his identity, Pires said the burglar appeared to be a black man in his 20s or early 30s, standing approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet in height.
When caught, as a minimum the suspect will be charged with third-degree burglary and criminal mischief, Pires said.
Dover Police are continuing to investigate the case.
