A man, apparently armed with a gun, held up the clerk at Mike's Food Mart Saturday.

Delaware State Police troopers are investigating the robbery of a Dover convenience store Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred at 4:35 p.m. when a man entered Mike’s Food Mart at 1272 S. Governors Avenue and handed the clerk a demand note, said division spokesman Cpl. John Day. The suspect appeared to have a handgun in his pants pocket, Day said.

The clerk opened a cash register and the suspect took the money and fled.

There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a black man standing 5 feet 10 inches in height, with a thin build. No other description was available.
