  • Dover Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a local man after he failed to appear for the jury’s verdict during his trial in Kent County Superior Court.
Trevor Jenkins, 23, was convicted April 24 of possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited, and resisting arrest, said police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
Jenkins was arrested in May 2013 after he was observed via a Dover Police video surveillance camera carrying a firearm. Police arrived on the scene and captured Jenkins after he tried to run away.
Jenkins had previously been prohibited from possessing a firearm due to an August 2008 robbery conviction.
Anyone with information on Jenkins’ whereabouts is asked to call Dover Police at 736-7111.
