  • A 61-year-old Camden man is in the hospital following a motorcycle accident on April 22.
Milford police are currently investigating the crash, which occurred shortly before 3 p.m. April 22 at South Rehoboth Boulevard and Evans Street, according to Milford Police Department spokesman Lt. Edward Huey.
Huey said a police investigation revealed that 61-year-old Alan Long, Camden, was operating a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on South Rehoboth Boulevard approaching Evans Street. As Long approached the intersection, a silver pick-up truck operated by an unidentified man was in the left turn lane on South Rehoboth Boulevard and turned onto Evans Street, cutting Long off, Huey said.
Long applied his brakes to avoid a collision, which resulted in laying the bike down and sliding approximately 25 yards on South Rehoboth Boulevard, Huey said.
Long was transported to Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital with a leg injury. Huey said his injuries appear to be non-life threatening, but no additional information is available regarding his condition.
The driver of the silver pickup truck continued on Evans Street, Huey said.
Police are asking anyone with information or any witnesses to contact Milford Police Department Patrolman John Collins at 422-8081.
