  • As local high school students have been gearing up from prom, so have members of the 55-plus community.
The event, held April 11, saw more than 200 seniors enjoying an evening of mingling and dancing at the Modern Maturity Center in the 2014 Senior Prom, themed Forever Young, presented by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Dover Alumnae Chapter.
Christopher “DJ Cool C” Hampton kept guests on the dance floor, grooving to old school tunes from Sam Cooke (“Everybody Likes to Cha Cha Cha”) to new school jams from Pharrell Williams (“Happy”) and V.I.C. (“Wobble”).
Dover residents Lee and Ken Robinson were crowned the 2014 Prom Queen and Prom King.
A free and popular event at the Modern Maturity Center, the Senior Prom has celebrated nearly 30 years. The Senior Prom is one of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s community outreach services.
