The Delaware Small Business Chamber held its annual Blue Ribbon Awards Brunch April 10 at Wild Quail Country Club in Camden-Wyoming to celebrate the best in small businesses and larger companies that work with local small businesses.
Prior to the award Brunch the public had the opportunity to vote on their favorite businesses in multiple categories, and the voters top choices won the Voters Choice Award. A Merit Award was also presented to the top finalists.
The Blue Ribbon Voters Choice (VC) Award for Community Involvement went to Pine Mountain Springs and the Merit award to Bernie’s Original Italian Water Ice; the VC for Customer Service of the Year Award went to Delaware Supermarkets (Shoprite) and the Merit Award to Kirk’s Flowers; the VC for Eco-Friendly Business of the Year went to Cartridge World and the Merit Award to Clear Horizon Solar; the VC for Emerging Business of the Year went to Kona Ice of Elkton/Newark and the Merit Award to Social Butterfly; the VC for Franchise of the Year went to Perfect Wedding Guide and the Merit Award to Verizon Zone in Suburban Plaza; the VC for Home Based Business of the Year went to Blue Hen Bed & Breakfast and the Merit Award to Blue Diamond Answering Service; the VC for Non-Profit of the Year went to Goodwill Industries of Delaware and Delaware County and the Merit Award went to The Small Business Administration; and the VC for Best Restaurant of the Year went to Kildare’s Irish Pub and the Merit Award to Aqua Sol. The award for Administrative Support Person of the Year went to Hannah Loftus with Nurse Next door and the Operational Support Person of the Year went to Tony Morris of The County Woman’s Journal.
