  • Maryland Police ended their hunt for a Wicomico County, Md., fugitive with his arrest April 2 in Dover.
Edwin L. Fletcher, 32, of Salisbury, Md., was sought after he evaded arrest in Wicomico County on March 26. Fletcher allegedly ran from police officers attempting to arrest him on a felony drug warrant, said Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley. Fletcher allegedly rammed a pickup truck into a police car, driving it over the patrol vehicle and injuring two Maryland troopers and a sheriff’s deputy inside.
A Maryland state apprehension team, in cooperation with Delaware law enforcement officers, took Fletcher into custody at a home in the 200 block of Dundee Road, Dover. Fletcher’s relationship to the persons in the house is not known, Shipley said.
Fletcher will be taken before a Delaware Justice of the Peace for an extradition hearing. It is not known at this time if he will waive extradition.
Other details concerning the arrest are not currently known.  The investigation is continuing.
