  • Seaford man, Harrington woman arrested after attempted theft

  • Two suspects, 34-year-old Seaford resident Carter L. Cannon and 28-year-old Harrington resident Sheriel N. Sewell, were arrested on attempted theft charges on March 28.
    Harrington police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Dorman Street after receiving a report that two unknown subjects were attempted to steal a large air conditioner unit outside of the residence, said Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode.
    When officers arrived, four suspects were taken into custody, and the stolen air conditioner units were located in the rear of a suspect’s vehicle, Brode said.
    Two of the subjects were released after being processed at the Harrington Police Department, Brode said.
    While searching Cannon, officers also located a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Brode said.
    Cannon was charged with attempted theft over $1,500, criminal mischief over $1,000, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
    Cannon was arraigned and released on a $4,300 unsecured bond.
    Sewell, who refused to cooperate with police, was charged with hindering prosecution.
    Sewell was arraigned and released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
