Brian E. Lewis, of Dover, was presented with the Jefferson Award and medallion.

The Jefferson Award founded in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Senator Robert Taft, Jr. and Sam Beard, is America’s highest honor for public service, a “Nobel Prize for public service”. It is one of the largest multipliers of volunteerism in the country.

Brian helps the homeless at the Interfaith Homeless Shelter and homeless living on the streets, children with disabilities through the Delaware Special Olympics and abused and neglected animals at the SPCA and serves on the Capital School Board in Dover which is a voluntary position.
