These three events have your name on them this weekend.

Tom’s Bullpen receives a King’s Ransom

WHAT King’s Ransom in concert

WHEN 8:30 p.m., Saturday

WHERE Tom’s Bullpen, 1035 Walker Road, Dover

INFO Visit Tom’s Bullpen on or call (302) 724-5199

The ability to smoothly transition from each song without stopping is one of King's Ransom’s greatest qualities. The band’s slick segues are reminiscent of the way a DJ creates mixes. Playing continuous music without stopping allows King’s Ransom to squeeze in more songs in a set than your average band, giving the audience its money’s worth, even when there’s no cover charge. The band plays a collection of popular classic rock to modern-era covers from acts such as Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, Jethro Tull, Whitesnake and Alice in Chains. The gang also covers R&B singer Stevie Wonder’s tunes, too. You can check out King’s Ransom at Tom’s Bullpen on Saturday night.

Ride the Groove

WHAT Groove Squad in concert

WHEN 9:30 p.m., Saturday

WHERE Fire & Ice Lounge at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, 1131 North Dupont Highway, Dover

INFO Visit or call 674-4600

There’s a difference between hitting the gym versus seeing a Groove Squad concert. While both activities involve you sweating, only one will have you smiling from start to finish. The latter happens when you’re hanging with the Groove Squad. The band will gig on Saturday at the Fire & Ice Lounge of Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. Groove Squad performs new and classic dance songs, while adding some twists along the way. Some of the newer tunes on the band’s song list are Pharrell William’s "Happy” and Daft Punk’s "Get Lucky.” Then there are the old-school jams that include Run DMC’s "Mary Mary,” Stevie Wonder’s "Master Blaster” and Cameo’s "Word Up.”
