You and your dog will have a great opportunity to mix and mingle with other animal lovers, and their pets, at the Delaware Humane Association’s 8th Annual Muttini Mixer at the World Café Live at The Queen in Wilmington on Saturday. At this popular event where dogs are welcome (as long as they’re on a leash), the dog and its owner are encouraged to attend in dressy attire, while meeting supporters of the DHA and enjoying music by ZJDJ Services. Proceeds from the Muttini Mixer will benefit the DHA, which is a no-kill animal shelter based in Wilmington The Muttini Mixer will feature heavy hors d'oeuvres, an open bar, silent auction items and raffles. There will be an opportunity for pet portraits and caricature illustrations. There will also be adoptable cats and dogs from the DHA, along with K-9 Penn dog training services that will teach some lucky dogs and its owners new skills and tricks. VIP guests at the Mutini Mixer will attend a reception with special guest Karl J. Keurner, III.

New Candlelight Theatre in Wilmington will travel aboard the musical-express in "Anything Goes" on Saturday and Sunday. In "Anything Goes,” a successful Wall Street banker Elisha Whitney waits impatiently for his assistant, Billy Crocker, to meet him at a bar in New York City. Billy has to drop off some items Whitney needs for his vacation, and Whitney has to give Billy instructions to sell stock for his personal account. But Billy forgot his boss' passport, so he’ll have to deliver it to Whitney on the cruise ship the next morning. Coincidentally, Billy's old friend Reno Sweeny, an attractive evangelist-turned-nightclub-singer, plans to travel on the same boat as Whitney. Reno is interested in Billy romantically but he explains to her that he’s in love with a girl named Hope. But Hope is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Caught in this love triangle, a gangster and Reno try help Billy in win over Hope.
