Do you know why Dover’s own Fordham & Dominion Brewery Company will be hanging out in downtown Milford on Saturday night?

It’s because Milford is going to be a hotspot destination for the thirsty-at-heart this weekend, thanks to its 4th Annual Toasting the Town: St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl.

The ever-popular event will include delicious tastings from Fordham, Dogfish Head, Mispillion River Brewing and the Painted Stave Distillery. There will also be special deal offers, including discounted drinks and food specials from some of the participating businesses. Event-goers wearing Pub Crawl shirts will receive free tastings from participating breweries and wineries. Shirts have been sold out at all of the previous Crawl events and they’re likely to do so this year. But a limited number are still available. If Crawl shirts are still available on Saturday, they’ll be sold at the Riverfront Theatre. Downtown businesses participating in the Crawl include the following: Abbott’s Grill (hosting 16 Mile Brewery), Arena's, Dolcé Bakery (hosting Dogfish Head), Fur~Baby Boutique & Doggie Day Care (hosting Mispillion River Brewing and Little Posies Photography), Milford Senior Center (hosting 3rd Wave Brewing Company and Painted Stave Distillery), Milford Tavern, Park Place, and Tax Chicks (hosting Fordham & Dominion) and the Riverfront Theatre (hosting Fenwick Wine Cellars).

WHAT Sheridan’s Irish Pub St. Patrick’s Day celebration

WHEN 4 p.m. 1 a.m., Saturday

WHERE Sheridan’s Irish Pub, 42 W. Commerce St., Smyrna

COST No cover charge until 5 p.m., then it’s $8

INFO or call 659-5566

Dubbed as “the St. Patrick’s Day headquarters,” it’s not hard to understand why Sheridan’s Irish Pub’s annual St. Patty's celebration bears such a title. Firstly, the Smyrna-based pub offers a full menu of traditional Irish cuisine dished up by co-owner Joe Sheridan, who grew up in Ireland. Although Saturday is a special day for eating corned beef hash and shepherd’s pie, it’s available daily at Sheridan’s. What’s not offered every day is its annual adult tricycle races that the pub will bring back on Saturday (signups are at 5:30 p.m.). The competition, held outside of the pub, will feature teams of four who’ll go head-to-head in male and female categories. The overall winning team of men and women will then duke it out in a battle-of-the-sexes race to be named king or queen of the trike. Meanwhile, DJ Jay will keep patrons inside Sheridan’s entertained with lively music (from 4 to 8 p.m.). Following DJ Jay, the band Glass Onion will close out the night with its deep songbook of cover tunes (starting at 8 p.m.).
