  • Officers with the Delaware Capitol Police have arrested a Dover man after he allegedly violated a protection from abuse order.
The incident took place March 12 outside Kent County Family Court, said police spokesman Sgt. Michael Hertzfeld.
The suspect, identified as John F. Shatesky, 45, allegedly waited for the victim in the court parking lot and contacted the woman when she came out of the courthouse. This action was in violation of a prior court order, Hertzfeld said.
Shatesky was charged with criminal contempt of a protection from abuse order, and ordered held on a $1,000 secured bond at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna.
