Detectives with the Delaware Child Predator Task Force have arrested a Dover man, identified as Derek K. DeYoung, on 10 counts of dealing in child pornography.
Dover Police and detectives with the Delaware Child Predator Task Force arrested a Dover man, identified as Derek K. DeYoung, 22, on charges of dealing in child pornography.
During the investigation, detectives tracked distribution of child pornography files to a West Loockerman Street apartment and executed a search warrant on March 5, said Department of Justice spokesman Jason Miller.
Detectives seized a computer which was taken to the DSP High Technology Crimes Unit for forensic analysis. DeYoung was determined to be a person of interest in the case, and was arrested a short time later.
DeYoung has been charged with 10 counts of dealing in child pornography. Arraigned by videophone by Justice of the Peace Court 2, he was ordered jailed on a $200,000 cash bail.
In a statement released with the news of the arrest, Attorney General Beau Biden said, “Each time an image of video of child pornography is received or shared the abused child is victimized all over again.
“Through the efforts of our Child Predator Task Force we’re acting to put a stop to this illicit and harmful trade.”
Miller said the task force is continuing its investigation.
