  • Fifth person in drug case gives up

  • A fifth person suspected of involvement in a Feb. 26 drug case was arrested Feb. 28.
    Horace D. Johnson, 20, of Newark, turned himself in to Delaware State Police Troop 2 in Newark, said division spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.
    The case began with the arrest of two men near Dover that led troopers to a home near Newark. Johnson was spotted leaving the home, but was able to escape capture.
    Johnson was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 4 quantity, possession of a destructive weapon, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, and resisting arrest.
    Johnson was jailed at the Howard R. Correctional Institution in lieu of a $66,000 secured bail.
