  • The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has determined a March 1 house fire near Dover was caused by accident.
The fire was reported at just before 4 p.m. on the unite block of South Fairfield Drive, Fairfield Farms, said Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael G. Chionchio.
The Camden-Wyoming Fire Company arrived on the scene to find flames shooting from the two-story home, Chionchio said.
State fire investigators determined the fire started inside a trash container in the attached two-car garage. Ashes from a wood stove ignited combustibles inside the container, Chionchio said.
Fire damage was estimated at $100,000. There were no reported injuries.
