Kent County Chapter 850 of the Vietnam Veterans of America joins the Korean War Veterans of the Association of Delaware to announce the kick-off of a campaign to bring a Korean War Memorial to Dover at the monthly meeting of the Commission of Veterans Affairs Feb. 18.
The agreement to put the Korean memorial at the Kent County Memorial Park in Dover was made last fall between the leadership of both organizations. The Delaware-shaped memorial was proposed by the leadership of the KWVA and quickly approved.
The memorial will cost approximately $10,000 and about $2,500 has already been raised. In addition to individual contributions, the project will be financed through the sale of memorial bricks at the site similar to the way the Vietnam Memorial was built in 2009.
Order forms for the $75 named bricks for the Korean memorial can be downloaded at delawarevva.com/pages/memorials/index/php.
