The Harrington Police Department arrested a 39-year-old New Jersey man for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Feb. 16.
Patrol officers stopped a vehicle, operated by Alberto Rodriguez of North Bridge, N.J., shortly before 8 a.m. Feb. 16 for traveling at 61 mph in a 35 mph zone on South Dupont Highway in the area of Porter Street, said police spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode.
While contacted Rodriguez, officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers then conducted a vehicle search and located 2.7 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Brode said.
Rodriguez was taken into custody and transported to the Harrington Police Department for processing.
Rodriguez was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. He was issued a criminal summons and released pending a future court appearance.
