The Dover area received between six and a half to seven inches of snow overnight Wednesday and into Thursday morning, according to a report from the City of Dover. The snow was then compacted by the sleet and rain that followed.
An additional accumulation of between one and three inches of snow is expected tonight. The transition from rain to wintery mix is expected to occur this evening and end overnight. Travel is expected to become hazardous and widespread power outages are possible, according to the National Weather Service.
