They say it’s not how you start, but how you finish. And if that saying holds true, Friday’s 65-4 win for the Caesar Rodney Riders over the Dover Senators is a sign of things to come for the 10-2 wrestling squad.

The Riders won their fourth dual-meet in a row and finished 5-2 within the conference heading into next weekend’s conference championships at Milford.

The Riders took control from the jump winning the first four bouts – two by pin-fall and two by major decision to break out to the early lead.

Jordan Olfus broke the streak for Dover, winning by an 11-3 decision over Thomas Gallucci. Unfortunately for the Senators it would be the last match they would win. The Riders broke off a streak of nine straight victories including four wins by forfeit.

Mason Harrington (106), Nick Klink (113), Michael Clavier (170), and Craig Logan (195) all had pin-fall victories for the Riders. Meanwhile, Rob Stevenson (120) and Brandon Scott (126) took home victories by major decision to pace the CR attack.

Now, the real fun begins as the Henlopen Conference Championships will be held next weekend before the DIAA Individual State Tournament in two weeks.
