The Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge will feed your belly and ears with a dinner and tribute concert in honor of rockabilly star The Big Bopper on Saturday.
When it comes to rockabilly, names like Elvis Pressley and Buddy Holly might immediately come to mind. And while both are musical juggernauts, let us not overlook that there were other artists making noise in the early rockabilly days of the 1950s, too.
Saturday's tribute concert, which will be performed by Gary Baker, pays homage to the late singer-songwriter Jiles "The Big Bopper" Richardson, who entertained the masses with his powerful voice and colorful personality.
The Big Bopper left behind a legacy of No. 1 hits including "Chantilly Lace" and "White Lightning."
He also joined Holly on the Winter Dance Party Tour in 1959. It was, unfortunately, short-lived as Bopper and Holly both died in a plane crash during the tour. Both artists were only in their 20s.
Ben Gallaher debuts at Cowboy Up
    WHAT Ben Gallaher in concert
    WHEN 9 p.m., Saturday
WHERE Cowboy Up, 36 Lafferty Lane, Dover
    COST $7
    INFO Visit cowboyupde.com or call (302) 264-9322
The Pennsylvania-native Ben Gallaher has garnered national media attention, built an adoring online community, and is still proving himself as a singer-songwriter, lead guitarist and entertainer in country music.
That's not bad for the rising singer-songwriter, who's still in his 20s.
With equal parts passion, heart and hard work, Gallaher is securing a loyal fan base with a timeless concept. He just plays one song and one town at a time.
His resume includes sharing the stage with headlining acts Brantley Gilbert, Colt Ford, Craig Campbell, Frankie Ballard.
Gallaher will look to meet some new fans when he debuts at the Cowboy Up Saloon on Saturday.
