  • Dover Police have seized an illegal handgun after responding to a domestic dispute in the city.
The incident took place at approximately 12:15 p.m. Jan. 22 at a home in the 200 block of North Queen Street, said police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
The suspect, identified as Marcus Jones, 29, of that address, allegedly threatened the victim with the weapon after an argument where the victim was physically assaulted, Hoffman said. Officers executing a search warrant located a Cobra handgun in the home, along with ammunition; an inspection of the weapon showed its serial numbers had been defaced, preventing police from identifying the weapon.
He was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of a $13,500 secured bond.
