The Harrington Police Department arrested 35-year-old Mary E. Pritchard, of Harrington, on Jan. 20 after police obtained warrants for her arrest when she failed to verify her address as a registered sex offender.
The State Bureau of Identification contacted the Harrington Police Department on Jan. 8 to notify them that Pritchard, a Tier II, or medium-risk, sex offender, did not verify her address during the month of 2013, said Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode.
Pritchard, who resides in the 200 Block of Central Park Drive, is required by law to go to the State Bureau of Identification twice yearly to verify her address.
A warrant was obtained, charging Pritchard with failure to register, re-register or provide verification as a sex offender as required.
Pritchard was taken into custody by the Delaware State Police on Jan. 20 and turned over to the Harrington Police Department.
Pritchard was also wanted by Kent County Superior Court for failure to appear for a criminal trial.
Pritchard was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $10,000 cash bond and $1,000 secured bond.
