  • An undercover online investigation into the distribution of child pornography has led to the arrest of a Dover man. The arrest was made Jan. 16 by members of the Delaware Child Predator Task Force, said Attorney General Beau Biden. As a result of the investigation, task force detectives and troopers from Delaware State Police Troop 3 executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Deer Track Road, Dover, said Department of Justice spokesman Jason Miller. During the search, multiple computers and external storage devices, along with several additional digital media devices were seized, and a resident of the address was developed as a person of interest and taken to Troop for further investigation. A forensic preview of the evidence revealed multiple files of child pornography on a computer owned by the individual, identified as Benjamin L. Byler, 24. Byler was charged with 25 counts of dealing in child pornography and confined at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of a $500,000 secured bail. Members of the task force are continuing their investigation, Miller said.
