  • Clerk robbed at Family Dollar store

  • Dover Police are looking for the man who held up a clerk at the Family Dollar store on Bay Road.

  • Dover Police are investigating the armed robbery of a clerk at a local discount store.
    The incident took place at 8 p.m. Jan. 12, at the Family Dollar Store at 650 S. Bay Road, in the Bay Court Shopping Plaza, said police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.
    The suspect came into the store, demanding the cashier hand over all of the money in the cash register and store safe. Once he received the cash, the man fled southbound toward the Division of Motor Vehicles complex.
    A search failed to turn up the suspect, Hoffman said.
    The suspect was described as a black man with a medium complexion, standing 5 feet 7 inches in height with a medium build. The man was wearing a ski mask and carrying an automatic handgun.
