  • The Kent County Department of Public Works has extended trash collection for eight districts served by Inland Waste Solutions. Recent severe weather conditions and office closures affected the company's work, said Kent County Levy Court spokeswoman Kia Evans. The affected subdivisions include Riverside, Church Creek, Champions Club, Jonathan Landing, Ponderosa Drive – North Magnolia, Hideaway Acres – North Magnolia, Cypress Gardens and Country Field, Evans said. As a result, trash collection in those areas will be held from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Evans added. Customers in any of those areas can place additional trash bags alongside their county-issued or private containers for collection that day, she said. Evans said this expanded service only covers bagged household waste items from the above listed communities on that particular day.
