  • The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect until 1 p.m. today for New Castle County, the Philadelphia 5-county area, and most of New Jersey.

  • The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect until 1 p.m. today for New Castle County, the Philadelphia 5-county area, and most of New Jersey.
    The storm is expected to bring 4 to 6 inches of snow.
    AAA Mid-Atlantic gives some driving tips for winter weather:
    - Slow down
    - Increase following distance
    - Know when to brake and when to steer
    - Do not use cruise control and avoid tailgating
    What to Do in a Front Wheel Skid:
    - Continue to look where you want to go
    - Steer in the direction you want the front of the vehicle to go
    - Avoid slamming on the brakes
    - When the front wheels have regained their grip, steer the wheels gently in the desired direction of travel
    Extreme Cold Drains Car Batteries:
    - You hear a grinding or clicking sound when you turn on the ignition
    - Your vehicle cranks slowly when attempting to start
    - Your headlights dim when idling but brighten when the engine is revved
    - Your battery is more than three (3) years old
